Survey participants were asked to give a priority rating for seven Source Water Protection options for the Tampa Bay Water as an entity. Seventy-seven percent of respondents gave “Continue to advocate for protection of the water sources that provide the region’s drinking water” a higher priority ranking. The response results for each Source Water Protection option for Tampa Bay Water are shown below.
1. Continue to advocate for protection of the water sources that provide the region’s drinking water. |

2. Continue to work with its member governments on the development and implementation of land development ordinances that protect groundwater and surface water sources from pollution. |

3. Work with and support local and state government agencies (SWFWMD, Members, FDEP, TBEP) to identify and implement stormwater projects and best management practices to protect watersheds. |

4. Track and support proposals to prevent and/or minimize unanticipated industrial pollutant discharges in local water bodies that provide drinking water. |

5. Work with local governments to support the development and implementation of Low Impact Development in the region. |
|
6. Develop a specific program for research and outreach to developers on Low Impact Development as it relates to source water protection. |

7. Develop educational materials for the public on how they can help protect ground and surface water sources to benefit the environment and regional drinking water supplies. |
